Molyn Leszcz
Dr. Molyn Leszcz is a psychiatrist, academic, researcher, and author. Throughout his career, he has trained countless group therapists and instilled in them his passion for group work. For years, he has led groups as a clinician and has assumed leadership roles in healthcare, most recently as the past President of the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA). He has worked extensively in the areas of physician wellness and has studied the effects of pandemic stress on healthcare providers. Along with Irvin Yalom, Molyn is co-author of the 5th and 6th editions of The Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy (2005, 2020), a seminal text for most group therapists. He is also co-author of one of the Psychotherapy Essentials to Go series, Achieving Psychotherapy Effectiveness (2015).
Molyn was awarded the Anne Alonso Award for Outstanding Contributions to Psychodynamic Group Therapy, as well as a Distinguished Fellowship award by the AGPA. He has also been the recipient of a number of teaching awards at the University of Toronto, where he is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry.
Molyn has served on the CGPF board for over 10 years.
